The Ultimate Winter Trail Guide

The winter adventure at Bear Lake is just beginning with snow finally falling lately! The good news is, Bear Lake’s backyard is home to some of the best high-altitude trails in the West.

🏁 For the Snowmobilers:

We have access to over 350 miles of groomed trails. Skip the general maps and head for these highly-rated routes:

The Garden City Trail: This is the local favorite for a reason. It climbs from the valley floor directly into the Sinks area, offering narrow, twisty sections that open up into massive powder bowls. Keep an eye out for elk and deer wintering on the lower slopes!

The St. Charles Canyon/Fish Haven Loop: This 34-mile loop is a destination for thrill-seekers. It crosses the Utah-Idaho border and offers some of the most dramatic overlooks of the lake from 9,000 feet.

Tony Grove Trail: A shorter, winding canyon climb that leads to a stunning alpine lake. It’s a great "play area" for those who want to practice their deep-powder carving.

🎿 For the Nordic Skiers & Snowshoers:

If you prefer a slower pace, these  trails offer some of the best grooming and views:

Limber Pine Nature Trail: Located at the top of Logan Canyon, this 1.5-mile loop is perfect for snowshoeing. It's relatively flat and winds through ancient trees, providing a perfect snow-globe experience.

Beaver Bottoms: Just 0.3 miles below Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, this 4km loop is professionally groomed for cross-country skiing. It’s mostly flat with one moderate hill, making it ideal for a morning workout.

Bear Lake Golf Course: For an easy, local afternoon, the golf course in Garden City often allows for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing right in town with beautiful, unobstructed views of the blue water.
