Bear Lake Beaches Explained

by Natalie Jacobsen

One of the best parts of Bear Lake is the variety of beaches to choose from, each with its own vibe, scenery, and perks. Here’s a quick guide to help you pick your perfect beach day:

North Beach (Idaho side)
Wide open, soft sand, and shallow water that stretches forever…North Beach is ideal for families with young kids or anyone wanting to wade, float, and relax. It’s one of the most popular spots in the summer, so arrive early, make a reservation, or plan for a weekday visit if you prefer fewer crowds.

Rendezvous Beach (Utah State Park – south end)
Known for its amenities, this beach offers camping, day-use areas, paddleboard and boat rentals, and more. It’s a great choice for full-day excursions or a weekend getaway. Plus, the views of the mountains from the southern end of the lake are gorgeous.

East Side Beaches (like Cisco Beach & First Point)
Looking for adventure and more privacy? The east side is less developed and more rugged, but perfect for launching kayaks, paddleboards, or just finding a peaceful slice of shoreline

Garden City Beach Access
Right in town and easy to access, this is the spot for convenience. There are several pull-off spots along the road, and you can also check out Garden City Park. You’re close to shakes, shops, and restaurants, making it perfect for a quick beach break before heading out for more Bear Lake adventures.
