Spring Cleaning Guide

by Natalie Jacobsen

As the snow melts away and the wildflowers begin to bloom, it's the perfect time to refresh your Bear Lake home with a thorough spring cleaning (especially if you’re planning to sell)!

Here are some tips to help you get started and ensure your home is sparkling clean and ready for the season ahead:

Declutter and Organize
Start by decluttering each room in your home, including closets, cabinets, and storage spaces. Donate or discard items you no longer need or use, and organize the remaining items. Creating a clutter-free environment will make your home feel more spacious and inviting.

Deep Clean Surfaces
Give your home a deep clean by dusting and wiping down surfaces, including countertops, furniture, and baseboards. Don't forget to clean light fixtures, ceiling fans, and vents to remove any built-up dust.

Refresh Fabrics
Wash curtains, bedding, and throw blankets to freshen up your home's fabrics. You may also want to consider steam cleaning upholstery and carpets to remove dirt, stains, and allergens accumulated over the winter months.

Shine Your Windows
Take advantage of the longer daylight hours to clean your windows and let the sunshine in. Use a streak-free glass cleaner and a squeegee or microfiber cloth to get a sparkling finish. Don't forget to clean window screens and sills as well to remove dirt and pollen buildup.

Outdoor Spaces

Extend your spring cleaning efforts to your outdoor living areas, including patios, decks, and porches. Sweep away debris, scrub outdoor furniture, and power wash surfaces to remove dirt and grime. It might also be time to prune bushes, trim trees, and start planning your spring flower beds.
