Time for a Drive

Bear Lake is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the region, and there's no better way to soak in all of that beauty than by taking a scenic drive. Here are some ideas!
Logan Canyon Scenic Byway
Have you heard of it? 😉 Start your journey on the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway, a 41-mile drive that connects Bear Lake to Logan, Utah. This route winds through the picturesque Logan Canyon, offering spectacular views of cliffs, forests, and the Logan River. Along the way, there are plenty of hikes and view points to explore.
Bear Lake Scenic Loop
Have you ever driven the entire coast of Bear Lake? This 50-mile drive around the lake takes you through both Utah and Idaho, offering a variety of beautiful landscapes and multiple opportunities to stop and explore. On the west side, enjoy the views of the lake with the Wasatch Mountains behind you. As you head to the east side, the route becomes more rural, with open fields, charming farmhouses, and a closer connection to the lake's shoreline.
Garden City to Bloomington Canyon
If you're looking for a lesser-known but equally beautiful route, drive from Garden City, Utah, to Bloomington Canyon, Idaho. This drive offers a mix of lake and mountain scenery. Once you reach Bloomington Canyon, consider taking a short hike to Bloomington Lake, a hidden gem with crystal-clear waters surrounded by steep cliffs.
Montpelier to St. Charles
Another great option is the drive between Montpelier, Idaho, and St. Charles, Idaho, on the north side of the lake. This route takes you through rolling hills and valleys, with plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife and enjoy the rural landscape. If you’re headed toward the lake, then the drive ends near North Beach, where you can relax by the water or take a swim.
