Winter Weekend Road Trips from Bear Lake

One of the best things about living at Bear Lake is our proximity to some of the most iconic winter destinations in the West. If you’re here year-round and wanting a mini-vacation from your full-time vacation at the lake, pack the car and head out on one of these three classic winter road trips:

Jackson Hole, Wyoming (Approx. 2.5 Hours)

The ultimate winter wonderland. Jackson is bustling this time of year with a vibe you won't find anywhere else. Take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge to see thousands of elk up close, or walk under the famous elk antler arches in Town Square. And for a world-class meal, hit Persephone Bakery or The Gun Barrel Steak & Game House.

Lava Hot Springs, Idaho (Approx. 1.5 Hours)

The perfect relaxation trip. Lava is famous for its natural, mineral-rich hot springs that stay a perfect 102°F–112°F year-round.  After your hot spring soak, take a stroll through the charming downtown shops and grab a delicious dinner at the Portneuf Grille & Lounge inside the Riverside Inn.

Park City, Utah (Approx. 2 Hours)

If you’re craving a bit of  luxury and action, Park City is the place. Even if you don't ski, there’s plenty to do like tubing, shopping, or watching the bobsled team at the Olympic Park. When you’re hungry, you have to stop at High West Distillery or Five5eeds.
